A Bluetooth beacon every attendee wears on a lanyard. It locates them in the venue to within 3 feet (1 m), without them having to take out their phone to be found. Everyone finds the person they want to meet.
What the badge does

The Smart Ruby badge broadcasts over Bluetooth Low Energy. It's detected at a distance: nothing to do, no phone to take out to be located.
To within 3 feet
Every attendee is located in the venue to within 3 feet (1 m). In the app, you see who's where and walk over to the person you want to meet.
Check-in at the entrance
The badge is read at the registration desk by a phone or a kiosk. Arrival is logged, with no printed list and no recount.
How it works
Arrival
At the registration desk, each attendee receives a Smart Ruby badge linked to their profile in the Who is Georges app. Reading the badge checks them in.
Activation
The badge is switched on. Attendees can put their phone away: the badge is all it takes to be located.
Locate and meet up
In the app, they see where other attendees are, to within 3 feet (1 m), and go straight to the person they want to meet.
Revisit your connections
Matchmaking happens in the app. After the event, every attendee finds their contact book and connection history there.
